Is there any way to passphrase protect the generated ssh keys, or use keys from PUTTy ?

I see a passphrase entry box but I cannot find documentation on this.

Thanks

You can use any keys compatible with openssh. They will work because both openssh and PhpED are based on openssl library. So you can use openssl.exe to generate the keys and if you specify passphrase during this process, it will be requested either with corresponding passphrase dialog or with value specified in the account settings on the keys tab.
