yes i have been working on a project that has 100,000 jpgs in subdir of the image dir, and now every time i load the project or try to save a file, the ide cranks up and pegs my processor for like 45 seconds, making the whole system unusable. i have become completely non-productive because of this issue.

i have tried to exlude both the file (*.jpg) and the dir, but phpEd is still choking on something...any ideas?

What version of PhpEd are you running?

I noticed a huge speed increase on loading huge projects (like yours) from 5.2 to 5.5.

I don't know if it'll help you any, or if any one else has noticed such improvement, but I definitely have.

Right, we care of the IDE performance and do our best to keep it high. Although, I should admit that with slow or remote disks the IDE won't load the project fast enough if it contains 100K+ files. Please add corresponding directories (by their names) into the list of the directories to hide (see Hide Directories in the project properties). For example, you may have there CVS;.svn;image
