I wanted to encode entities in an HTML source file that I have embedded in a page as a sample, and not finding the needed functionality in PhpED, I figured this was the perfect time to try my hand at making an integration script, something I've been wanting to learn more about for a while. All I need to do is grab the selection and run it through a PHP script that calls htmlspecialentities() on it and then returns the new text to replace the old.

I quickly ran into a problem, however. I appears that the integration functionality only supports working on entire files, not selections. Is this true, or did I miss something? And if the integration functionality can't do this, is there any other way to accomplish this sort of thing?

In the options for the integrated script, there's a "Selected text" checkbox near the bottom.
