did you install Apache as windows Service?

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I installed it as a service. It doesn't appear as a service in the windows service control screen though, but that is obviously because the executable has an access problem. Can you suggest something for me to look into? I have run apache (2.0.55) on this machine in the past using WebServe. As an aside, I want to use TechPlatform to experiment with the PHP debugger and hopefully get PhpEd Thanks, Ed |

Is it possible that you have a registry-monitoring or antispyware tool that warned you that some software is installing somehing and you accidently pressed cancel?
Please just run setup again and make sure it proceeds with no troubles. If the problem persists, please check if c:\NuSphere\TechPlat\setup\setup.log is created. If so, please let me see it. |

Apache failed to run because port TCP/443 is in use on your machine. Check port usage by running netstat -naop TCP It's possible that you're running for example IIS or another HTTP server with SSL. If so, either do not install SSL for admin part when you're installing TechPlatform or install it on different port, or uninstall or stop 3rd party software that uses port 443. |

I had the same error after installing the techplat.
Discovered that this happens when installing without being connected to the internet. After connecting to the internet, installation was correct. |

Is it supposed to like anybody?
I'm not sure what you mean by "run as a localhost". Any errors in the Apache logs? Be more specific if you want somebody to help you |
