Code area scrolling

One really annoying thing about scrolling in PhpEd is that when the code area is focused and I move the mouse cursor over the workspace or explorer sidebars and scroll /I usually scroll to look for a file/folder and then select it instead of selecting some element and then scrolling through the tree (:/ then both areas are scrolled. The code area scrolls even when I move the cursor over on the second monitor and sometimes EVEN when another application is focused /usually my browser/.

I hope you know what I'm talking about and you'll do something about it.

What version/build are you using? In v5 (build 5025) I cant get it to replicate what you have described. If I hover over the workspace or explorer and use the wheel, only that area that I'm hovering over scrolls. I have to place my cursor on top of the code area to get it to scroll when I move the mouse. And I have never seen it scroll the code area if i'm focused onto another application....

You had me there for a second... I had build 5023 /I have 5025 installed on my laptop and I don't know why it didn't make to my desktop computer/ but unfortunately upgrading didn't help so it must be something else.

Double scrolling is rare but I swear it's true. The amazing thing is that with several tabs open in my browser it only happens when one specific tab is active. When I switch to another tab it's OK and when I go back to the "lucky" one, everything scrolls together again.

It's a known problem of Logitech mouse drivers. They re-send mouse wheel events to the window under mouse even when the message is already processed. I'd highly recommend you to use ones that comes with Windows.

I thought it would have something to do with my mouse. Unfortunately having spent that much money (over $100 in my currency) on a mouse (MX Revolution) and running on Windows' drivers would be just stupid, right? (:

If there's no other way to solve this, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it. Thanks for clearing it up.

probably those $100 are for good hardware. Regarding drivers, just give MS drivers a try and compare Smile

Compare what? Cursor movement? (:

SetPoint allows program-specific button settings which increase productivity so there's no way for me to take a step back. It would be like trading a car for a bike and getting everywhere longer.

as far as I remember, logitech injects many dlls into the process and only one of them re-sends wheel messages.
if you prefer 5wheel cars to bikes, I'd recommend you to contact logitech and let them know about the problem. At least, it would not be that hard for them to implement a settings prohibiting from re-sending the messages.

Hi dmitri,

The Logitech 'Setpoint' Software has to be uninstalled.

Thanks,
