What are the advantages using TechPlatform instead of using a lamp-bundle, such as Xampp?

I would be happy to recieve a reply to this question. I am a long time user of PHPEd and Xampp, and would like to know if there is any advantage for me in switching over to using TechPlat?

Both are free products. If you have problems with XAMPP, try TechPlat. If you have no problems, why bother?

I cant believe they never installed this... who doesnt develop using mysql?????

Did you try to install mysql downloaded from mysql.com site? Is it any harder?
Benefit is obvious: you're free to pick right version of mysql that matches your target server.

Regarding mysqladmin, I don't use it at all. What I have in PhpED works good for me.
