I've been happily working away in PhpEd and all of a sudden I can't debug anything. All I get is the error "Failed to start debug session (error: 3)Please make sure the debugger module is installed for locally running php"

Well I'm just running the built in web server included with phped. Nothing fancy.

I have no idea how to fix it though.

Something could have changed though - did you install another PHP by any chance? Could you please post the output of phpinfo() - or you can run dbg-wizard to see what it has to say.
What could have happened is another php.ini jumping in the C:\windows or like and killing dbg module.

Well I've just scrubbed it off and done a complete reinstall. Still getting the same problem. I haven't installed anything new today on this pc. All I did was create a new php file in my project and after trying to run and debug it for the first time it now won't work at all for anything. I've not touched the dbg-wizard. I'll have to post phpinfo() tomorrow as I'm finished at work for the day

Morning. I've got the output of phpinfo(). One thing I've found, debugging works with 1 file in my project it_computers.php but not the other 2 (it_software.php and phpinfo.php). I had to stick the phpinfo() command into the it_computers.php file to work. I get a 404 not found error with the 2 files that don't work. All of these files reside in the same folder. Thanks for your help.

If I input the address http://localhost:8080/phpinfo.php it works fine. If I click Run > Run in PhpEd it tries to open the following address and fails

http://localhost:8080/file:///heber4/f/simon/workspace/Software%20Licence%20Tracker/phpinfo.php?DBGSESSID=-1&PHPEdHidden=54969

Debug seems to work fine if I manually change the URL manually. Any way of setting it not to open it using file:/// etc?

Srv takes the file as an input as opposed to real URL - it is a light weight web server. Still it shouldn't be a problem. It looks like your file could be outside of your Project root. Could you please post the screenshot of your Project and the path to the file you made (just hover thr cursor over file tab in the editor).

Thanks. I did try taking out the spaces in the path but that didn't seem to help. In fact not even the it_computers.php will debug now. I can of course manually enter the URL without the file:// bit included. Screenshots below:

you have entered \\heber4\f in the project settings instead of f:\
that's the problem.

I haven't tried that. I did try moving to the local hard drive though and it seems to work fine now. Thanks for the suggestion
