Is installing local apache/php required?

It has been a while since I last installed PHPEd, but I don't seem to recall the option to not install any local web server. Does something in PHPEd require a local installation of Apache with PHP, or can it be bypassed entirely? I do all my debugging on a remote web server; I personally have no need for local installation of apache/php and would prefer to save local resources is possible..

(And congrats on the latest release of PHPEd. I look forward to checking it out after the first round of patches)

thanks Smile

PhpED comes with pretty tiny web server that's of 1.3MB or about.
I think you don't care of such space wasted on your hard drive.
And you don't need Apache if you aren't going to debug locally.
Just proceed with instructions on how to debug remotely.

oh! ha.. ok, I guess that's no big loss and, "It's there if I need it."
Actually, I use PHPEd so much at work that I decided I can't work without it at home either-- so I bought a copy and saw that I didn't have the disk space to spare on my partitioned laptop hd. I know, I know.. I'm crying a river for myself...

nice edit, dmitri -- I almost didn't recognize the writer anymore on revision... Wink
