MySQL Issue |
|
Hi Dimitri !
Thanks for your response The problem is when we use the direct mysql access from the righthand flyout rather than from any PHP and so we had thought that it would be the libmysql.dll rather than any of the php*mysql. Could you please clarify. With reference to your post on this topic we have been attempting to change the libmysql.dll library in the main program directory Kind regards and thanks for your comments Prema |

If the problem is yet not resolved (please confirm), you may want to check if another libmysql.dll is available on a directory listed in %PATH% environment variable and in particular in system32. In latter case, it will be loaded instead of libmysql in phped's directory.
For further info, please read this libmysql-dll-upgrade-t3094.html |

Still Happening. |
|
Hi Dimtri!
Thanks for the advice. I've done a system wide check and found a copy of libmysql in the windows\system32 directory which of course is on the system path. We updated this. The problem is still there. We deinstalled PHPEd and reinstalled, license process etc, just in case something had become confused. From a fresh copy of MySQL 5 we replaced the libmysql.dll in the main program directory (not the PHP ones) Still no change - Mysql 3x just fine, while 4x fails silently. Just to check that we are getting it right then we attach the dll dump for the library we are using. Some of the information may be misformatted but we hope it will help Meantime we'll take another pass through your forum and make sure we didn't miss anything Very grateful for your help Kind regards Prema File generated by Faber Toys (Version 2.6 - Build 52) Date: Tuesday, 20 March 2007 - 1:35:25 p.m. Program created by Faber Details of C:\Program Files\nusphere\phped\libmysql.dll PROPERTIES Date 5/03/2007 Size 1.5 MB Image Info Description Value <snip> |

I'm not sure if I can help you any further with connectivity between libmysql.dll and mysql server. This combination works good for many thousands customers using PhpED on everyday basis. What I'd recommend you is to contact mysql. Since it's a networking problem (it looks like it is) try to stop all other software including AV monitors, firewalls etc. and check again.

One of the users had a similar problem with another product and suggested this:
"Perhaps your user needs to add old_passwords to my.ini's [mysqld] config, as described here:" http://www.digitalpeer.com/id/mysql See if it helps. Thanks! |
