On certain files, or dependant on the content of the files I cant run the debugger (3.1.9)
I can run phpinfo.php when it contains:

Then I get the error:

Both versions of the file run fine from external browser without debugger.
I have some other files that do run un debugger, and some that dont, but the example above shows a simple case of works/doesnt work.

Found a solution myself:

Rolled back to PHP 5.2.0 and the problem went away.

So DBG 3.1.9 (php_dbg.dll-5.2.x) from phped 4.6.3 build 4633 doesnt seem to be compatible with PHP 5.2.1

we will provide 5.2.1 compatible debugger in a very near future

Debugger shipped with PhpED 4.6.3 (dbg 3.1.9) is compatible with php 5.2.0 and 5.2.1. You just need to pick modules that end up with -5.2.x.


It means that $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] was not set.
You may want to try to turn JIT off:
auto_globals_jit=off

I have the same problem. Using PHPEd 4.6.3 Standard, with installed on my local computer Apache 2.2.4 / PHP 5.2.1 and MySQL 5.0.27. While evaluating PHPEd 4.6.2 it was the same problem until I changed settings in Tools->Settings->Tools:Debugger. There I checked 'Use custom port and host', leaving port untouched and putting 127.0.0.1 instead of 'clienthost'. This made the debugger work correctly. But in Standard version I have this option disabled. So the question 'what to do?' remains still open... I made print_r($_SERVER) and in fact, the variable $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] mentioned by Dmitri contains 0.0.0.0 - not set. I changed settings in PHP.INI as suggested (auto_globals_jit=off) - it didn't help... What to do now? It's hard for me to use SRV since application I am developing relies on some PHP functions depending on presence of Apache server in the system.

To be sure I downgraded to Apache 2.2.3 and for me the debugger now works ok.

I had the same problem with Apache 2.2.4 and PHP 5.2.1 running on a linux box.

First I tried using Apache 2.2.3 and that didn't fix the problem.

So then I tried Apache 2.2.4 again with

auto_globals_jit = Off

And this works OK!
