Shortcut keys

Please can we have the option to assign shortcut keys to things like CVS commands ?

you can assign shortcuts for any commands including CVS ones:
Tools->settings->integration, expand CVS group, double on the command you'd like to change or assign shortcut to and enter shortcut (literally) in the Shortcut line (the first one in the table).
