I installed the free version of dbg according to the instructions.
phpinfo shows that dbg is installed correctly.

I configured my php.ini like this:
[debugger]
debugger.enabled=on
debugger.profiler_enabled=on

I also installed the PHP DBG Listener. It's running in my taskbar and says "Listener is started". No message is displayed in the listener when I access a PHP page. Is that normal?

I want to step through my php code. Do I need to install another program? I'm running on Windows.

Debugger only provides interfaces to the other programs. We call them IDEs and one IDE is provided there. Called NuSphere PhpED IDE. Feel free to try it out.
