Differences between the free and the commercial version?

Hi,

can anybody tell me what is the difference between the free and the commercial version of dbg? I've heard the commercial version does have more features?

Maybe this has been discussed here already, but I didn't found anything in the archives about it: Why do you sell the commercial debugger only in combination with PhpEd? We don't use PhpEd and we surely will not pay the full price for a software we will not use, just to get the commercial version of the debugger. But we would gladly pay between 50 and 100$ for each debugger license, if it would be available as a standalone. I guess the market for this great debugger is much bigger as the market for a special IDE, as good as it may be, so this doesn't make sense for me.

Regards
Carter

The biggest and the only one real difference between free and commercial is in support of hosts_allow directive, that free version doesn't have. This is of course a serious security enchancement, which we prefer to putin commercial version only, because it carries more serious liability - our customers rely on this feature.
As to selling dbg as the stand alone - we still don't see muhc of a reason for that, because we are making it available for free! Free dbg is usually just one version behind, lots of companies actually use it in their product. Could you give us more details as to why would you like to purchase commercial versionof dbg - we always keep our minds open Smile and we always listen.

another reason goes lke this - if you need this serious security feature (hosts_allow), that we provide in our commercial version, than you probably need sftp client, ssh tunneleing - and all that stuff. So, you probably need PhpED then too Wink - which comes with all that security theme.
