CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW is not appropriate shortcut for selecting words.
In particular CTRL+RIGHT ARROW is used for moving cursor right to the next word and if SHIFT is pressed it also selects what so ever is under cursor. To select word under cursor you may use Ctrl+K, Ctrl+T, or Ctrl+K, T |

The CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW description is: "Select the word to the right of the cursor".
Now I don't want to polemize but many editors (such as UltraEdit, Zend Studio, ...) use C+S+R (or C+S+Left) as described above. PHPEd is the only editor that uses C+S+R in a different way. You can understand that if you are editing a code, moving from a word to the other using C+R or C+L, it becomes easy to select a word just pressing also SHIFT. Probably a solution, that also UltraEdit has adopted, could be add a "delimiter" list, editable by the user, to determine when a new word starts and when a word finishes. |

No, certainly it's not the only editor where Ctrl-Shift-Right works this way. It's a common shortcut for ALL Borland products and not only. Anyway, you may change it to what so ever you prefer. |

I'm currently using UltraEdit but I'd like to adopt an editor with a debugger, so I'm testing both PhpEd and Zend Studio.
I think PhpEd is far better than Zend's so I'll probably get it. Mine was just a suggestion to improve the PhpEd capabilities and I'm sorry if you feel hurt for that. I'm not english mother-tongue so I've probably used wrong words to explain my idea. |

Sorry if I did not make it clear
There is no problems with PHPED If you prefer CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW to select word under cursor, you can easily assign this shortcut for that editor function. Just scroll editor shortcuts list to Ctrl-K,T (Select word under cursor) and change it to CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW. Then find the old function (will be marked with red) and assign to it a different or empty shortcut. |
