code template problem

i'm a licensed user currently on version 3.3.2 (Build 3386) - yes i know there is a service pack 3 but i'm not the "purchaser" so I cant get the update and have to wait for him to get it for me.

I've used code templates in the past to set up shortcuts for things i use all the time. I'm now altering all my comments so they can be used with phpdoc and wanted to set up a code template for a DocBlock. however, after setting one up, when i try to use it in the editor, i get a weird string of characters.

in the Code Templates area of settings I have the name set to docb, the description set as drops in the basic structure for a docblock, and the template body as:
Code:
/**
*  |
*/

when i try to use the shortcut (docb then Ctrl+J) PhpEd drops in this string of text: LyoqDQoqICB8DQoqLw==

any one have any ideas on this one?

yup, 3386 has this flaw. Instead of your code it inserts base64-encoded one... Besides others, this bug is fixed in service pack 3.

decided to do a little snooping... opened up the phped.cfg file and found that LyoqDQoqICB8DQoqLw== corresponds to the templates [CDATA] whereas most of the other code templates i have added, their [CDATA] is the actual template i put in.

you responded at the same time as i did. ok, i'll push my purchaser here in the office a bit more to go get the service pack for me. in the mean time, if i manually edit the phped.cfg file then the templates work, so i guess i can just do that until i can get service pack 3 installed. thanks for the quick response.

totally unrelated question: how come you have to an "authorized" account to download service packs? in organizations where the purchaser isnt the same person as the end-user it makes getting service packs/updates EXTREMELY frustrating.
