I have an include directory outside of my project directory that I would like to have show up in the workspace window with the project. Is there a way to do this as part of the project or any alternative solution?

If you believe these files should be out of the web tree, you can either set the project's directory a level higher so it will include both the web tree and out of the web files or add a new project to the same workspace pointing to the directory outside of the tree. If you don't develop the files out of the web tree and therefore you don't need to see them in the workspace window, you can set include path in the project settings pointing to the directory, that's sufficient to let code insight engine to find the files and use for the code completion dropdown and hints.
