I have not been missinformed. The course is given at BCIT, and it's the Web Technologies certification. Look it up...

I'd only have to note that XHTML 1.0 is as equally w3c-compliant as HTML 4.0.1.

It is quite common to indent the content of arrays in PHP or Javascript this way:
