a file? There could be many. For example if you open c:\myproject\js\something\something2\filename.txt, it will try to find .editorconfig in all parent subdirectories:
c:\myproject\js\something\something2\ c:\myproject\js\something\ c:\myproject\js\ c:\myproject\ until root = true is found and each particular property can be defined in any of them, or in them all. .editorconfig files are checked each time you open a file |
