Hi all,
I'm just starting the learning curve on databases, currently I'm trying to setup a local MySQL server on my desktop to work with PhpED.
I was looking for v5.0 to match what's on my remote server and I believe I read that PhpED is setup to work with 5.0 but I was only able to find v5.1 in a free version.

Will v5.1 work or should I be going about this another way?

Thanks, DC

I've tried with v5.1, this is the error message I'm getting...

Could not connect using: root@localhost
2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

Ok, got it, It took a while to figure out which libmySQL.dll to swap into PhpED.
I found plenty of references to do this but nothing saying exactly which one, so this is what worked for me...

I copied the libmySQL.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\bin into C:\Program Files (x86)\nusphere\phped
renamed the original file first of course.

Everything is working now.

The wizard is pretty impressive Dimitri, thanks!
