If you enable Optimal Fill it doesn't do anything in 5.2. Works perfectly throughout the 5.0 series.

If you uncheck Keep Trailing Blanks, the trailing blanks are still kept.

FYI, it works somewhat differently than in versions pre-5.2. In particular, it will not remove trailing blanks and will not change tabs to fill indentation optimally, until you save the file. It effectively fixes the problem with unexpected modifications that might happen if you just move cursor through the file without editing.

This is an AMAZING fix. I just tested it and indeed it works as you describe.

I think this is a very slick improvement and makes working with files much easier and less "confusing" (its easy to get confused when optimal fill and removing trailing spaces works in real time). It also makes cleaning up files easier. I used to hold the down key for 60 seconds so the cursor would pass over a few hundred lines of code.

I fully agree on that one. It annoyed the HELL out of me that just opening a file and browsing through would sometimes modify it, thanks!
