- update the embedded Mozilla Browser
- installing extensions

Why whould you need to update embedded mozilla? What comes with 5.2/5210 is FireFox 2.0.0.7. Do you need something else?
Regarding extensions, you may load them through the URL in the navigation bar, as usual.

I don't want to be bound to the PhpED's Updates to get an updated embedded Firefox.


Well, it doesn't work.

E.g.

1. open with the embedded Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843
2. click on "Install Now" and install the extension.
3. the Addons-Window is completly emtpy.


I'm also missing
- configure language (mayby I'm blind but I can't find it on the configuration window)
- some Buttons (e.g. new tab)
- some menues (e.g view -> pagestyle)
- the whole context-menu

Btw. I'm using PhpED Version: 5.2 (5210).

Embedded Mozilla Browser is provided by NuSphere. No other companies are providing it, hence you can't get it from anywhere else



Sorry, we're not responsible for 3rd party extensions to work under embedded browser. Please submit report to their providers/developers.

I know, i can use the extern FF, but I don't like to switch windows...



I tried over a half hour to install all of the FF-Extensions which are listed below

- online "through the URL in the navigation bar, as usual" :wink
- offline-import (xpi-files)

No one will be installed.

Maybe you know an extension which can be installed with the embedded Mozilla Browser.

Is it possible to activate some features like view->pagestyle and context-menu?

I shortened the list for the sake of readbility.

It's clear that the extensions are getting confused because they can not find any FireFox background beyound the browser window. What would you expect? They all expect FireFox XUL to be loaded first. Try this first and let know about the results.

How can I do this?

I thought you know it better than me
chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
but again, it does not mean that they all will start to work.
This XUL just creates the browser environment while some services needed for their work may still remain not loaded.
