url rewriting

Can someone tell me how I can activate url rewriting on phpEd's web server?

If you mean SRV http server that comes with phped, it's mostly intended for simple projects.
If you need any functionality that's available in Apache, you may want to use Apache for you development and debugging of PHP in PHPED IDE.
