how do I turn off code completion for javascript?

right now it takes ages to write some simple jquery stuff because code completion pauses every time I type a bracket

jQuery(...paus...... ). period causes pause too .......

For some trivial things -- you're absolutely right, it would be much easier to post the answers here. But I'm sorry, I'm not here on everyday basis while techsupport is waiting for the reports on a different place. Whenever I'm here and the question/report is simple, I do my best to provide the answers.
