when I have some variables containing "Umlaute" (ä,ö,ü) they are not shown corretly in the debugger, look:



It is "zurückgestellt" but the "ü" is a broken umlaut (utf-8 but misinterpreted).

I have phped 5.9 and Windows XP SP3 with Firefox 12 (3rd party debugging).

I thought the umlauts were broken, but they are not, they are only misshown in the phped-debugger.

It was discussed here multiple times. What you're searching for is code page in debugger settings.
BTW, I'd recommend you to switch to version 7.0 and use Project Settings Wizard that besides many other things takes care of the code page.

Switching to version 7.0? It is still 219.- $ and the version 5.9 is still working very well, couldn't hardly be much better
