MySQL Service mysteriously stops responding?

Hi,

I am using TechPlatform with Apache and MySQL to run a website. This website uses the MySQL DB to store its user names and passwords. When access to a sensitive part of the site is required, the user name password dialog box appears in Internet Explorer (or Netscape) per the Apache settings. About once every other day, you will put in your user name and password and Internet Explorer will just sit there and stare at you. It is almost like it cannot get a responce from Apache which maybe cannot get a responce from MySQL . Stopping the Apache, MySQL services and restarting them Immediately resoves the issue.. I dont understand why this happens, especially considering the randomness of its appearance. Please help,

Greg

Set LogLevel debug, restart Apache and
inspect its logs at the moment when you get IE frozen.

seems mysql troubles you.
Please consider upgrading it as a necessary step up.

Anyways, we do not provide mysql with our products anymore...
We've switched to UltraSQL/PostgreSQL.

Do you know if there is a tool that will migrate my MySQL data to your new UltraSQL software?

Yep. there are a lot of in the Net.
Should be emphasized that this process is not a straightforward one.
PostgreSQL (and consequently UltraSQL) supports much more features than mySQL, although they do not always have direct equivalents.

You'd try these instructions first:

Also, take a look at
