I certainly understand how certain things will get changed because of new development. What would be extremely helpful, though, is documentation of exactly *which* settings will change. In fact, closely related, I'd absolutely love to see NuSphere produce detailed release notes that document and categorize every change in the IDE with each version. A superb example is what Bare Bones Software does for BBEdit. For example:

This is the general release notes document, and is equivalent to what most companies put out (though still with a little more detail than usual).

This is the detailed release notes document. It categorizes and lists every change made. Sometimes, this can go on for several pages!

Such detailed notes are wonderful, and they're highly valued--and praised--by the BBEdit community. It's just part of good documentation, in that it saves users a lot of time figuring out what has or hasn't changed with each release and generally helps them plan their migrations better and know what areas to watch when they do migrate. It also gives folks something to really salivate over Smile. (BBEdit has a fanatical community of users around it much like PhpED does.)
