How to paste text from buffer to SSH terminal?

Hello,

How should I paste text from buffer to SSH terminal? The basic select + right click works fine for copying but I cannot find the way how to paste it back. (I have tried left click or Ctrl+V, there is only temporary solution to user menu Edit > Paste but this is just for newbie IMHO) In putty I have to left click to copy and right click to paste.

If there is no such option I would like to request it (putty is most wide spread SSH client and it will be great if PhpED’s will communicate with user in the same way). I am absolutely sure that it will be easy for you to implement. Since “Edit > Paste” works fine you have to assign “right click” in terminal window to “Edit > Paste” and “left click operation (auto copy)” to “right click”.

Thank you in advance

Regards

Vitali

P.S. The greatest advantage of PhpED’s SSH terminal in compare with putty is that it could store passwords (even if it is not recommended) of cause I am not going to store root pass Smile. I have 20 SSH accounts and it is really boring to search appropriate password for given account.

if I remember it right, click on the mouse wheel (3rd button) will paste text from the clipboard into terminal.

Thank you for your replay. I have checked middle and other buttons of my mouse but none of them works.

I have no idea which mouse you have used but here is mine:
MX™ Revolution
I can hardly believe that it is my mouse problem...

Have you tried edit->copy some selected text in the editor then middle-click in the terminal? It works fine w/o any glitches.

For sure ... I have said that it copies without any problem and I could paste it only with “Edit > Paste”.

so you have a mouse software that does not support middle (wheel) clicks. Congratulations.
I'd recommend to try MS-supplied drivers.

It supports middle button click. It allows me to assign different behavior of mouse buttons’ clicks for different software. For example: in the Dreamweaver I have assigned middle button click to “Del”, in MS Office it turn mouse to “free spin” mode.

p.s. could you please tell me which shortcut or key I should use to paste text in SSH terminal? I will assign it manually for middle any of my mouse buttons.

FYI, putty's 2nd option is to bind middle-click to paste, so you can have both working identically.
Regarding what combination to assign wheel-clicks to, my answers is do not assign, leave it working as middle-button-click. It's the original behaviour of wheel-click and for example in IE and MsWord it shows scrolling pane, same goes for treeviews in PhpED and works as paste in the connected terminals.
Let know if you still have problems.

Thank you, I have assigned mouse’s “back” button to the “middle button" click Smile and now it works. I have no idea why middle buttons does not work (I have default option for it “not action”).
