Highlight variable

Hi,

It would be cool if variables could be highlighted. This would make it very easy to quickly see at a glance everywhere that a variable appeared in the current file/document.

I would like it to work by right-clicking the relevant variable's name (either in the document or the Code Navigator) and selecting "Highlight All Instances" (or similar).

It should be possible to specify the Variable Highlight colour in the Settings.

Thanks,

I am also interested in this feature for PhpEd. For java programmers, this feature appear on Eclipse since the 3.2 or 3.3 version. At the beginning, I was a bit surprise but after a while, I found it really usefull and now when I am using another IDE without this feature, I wonder to have it too.

Mark occurrences type feature - once you've used it, it's great! It really does speed up work, helps understand code, and reduces errors. Great for tired eyes.

I find this feature very useful in Eclipse, would be happy to use it in PhpED too.

I love this feature in NetBeans (which now supports PHP). What's interesting is for the highlight to retain scope, so that when you put your cursor on a variable within a function it only highlights the occurrences within that function.
