I am using PhpED 5.2 Build 5223 on my PC und Vista Business. When I try to do remote debugging using 3rd Party Webserver, I get following error message:

DBG 3.2.10

Failed to start DBG session


Reason: debugger module is called from an old or incompatible client software. It's necessary to update DBG client (dbglistener) to version 3.2.10 or higher

I get the same error with Firefox 2 or the internal Browsers as 3rd Party Browser. I am debugging over SSH, all settings are correct on client and server. On the Vista client the firewall is turned off. The server is running on redhat enterprise linux.

I checked the version of the dbglistener and it is 3.2.10 and therefore it is definitive not and older client software as the error message claims.

When I am using the same PhpED Release from a client with Windows 2003 Server using the same client settings everything works fine!

When I am debugging from the Vista client to a server running under Windows 2003 everything works fine also.

So the problem lies in the dbg.so shared lib under redhat. I am using the glibc 2.2 version of this lib, the glibc 2.6 version does not run. The output of ldd --version on the redhat server is:
ldd (GNU libc) 2.3.4

I found a solution for my problem:

On the Vista CLient I had to change the ssh debugger host setting from "localhost" to "clienthost" to make debugging work.

On the other client und Windows 2003 I can use "localhost" as I ever did, but "clienthost" is also working.
