Confusion with mappings

Hi

Lets say I've a directory structure thus:

Remote server
/home/me/www/project/

This is mapped onto my workstation (using Samba) to z:\www\project

Project url is http://project_me

Within project is:

/codebase
/codebase/htdocs/<Apache Document root for 'project_me'>
/codebase/includes
/codebase/class
/sql
/doc

Normally within my workspace I set my project's "Root directory" to be z:\www\project so I can edit the files outside the document root, however if I do this the URL gets the rest of the path addded on (e.g. http://project_me/codebase/htdocs/) which breask the debug session.

How do I set up my project so that I can edit files that are not in the doc root whislt still run a debug session pointing at the document root (with the right URL)

Thanks
