Can't make FTP-connection work over secure connection

I'm trying to connect my projects to the server through port 22 (using secure FTP). Any other program I use (WinSCP and dreamweaver in my case) work. But PhpED doesn't.

I've noticed the SSL settings tab in accounts and something about certificates. But I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it. There's not a single entry in the manual telling me how to make this work.

Any help is appreciated. Shocked

port 22 has no relation to FTP protocol...
If you mean SFTP, it is not FTP at all but an extension to SSH protocol. Phped 3.3 does not support SFTP, only FTPS (ssl-ed FTP). Many modern FTP servers support SSL/TLS extensions, like Wu-FTPD and Pro-FTPD.
Take a look at them.

Have a look at MindTerm MindTerm it's a free for personal use FTP to SFTP bridge. It works quite well to send data through SFTP using phpED.

next version of PHPED will support SFTP directly.

Are we talking the next major or minor version? I would assume minor, but it's best to ask, eh?..

MindTerm is interesting if it gives me access to my servers without hassle 'til the next version of PhpED comes out.

Thanks, toldroyd...

Is the next version something we are going to see before the end of the year?

sure Smile Smile,
meanwhile you can work with FTP through SSH or using SSL (ftps) if you care of security
