You can add your own online manuals to the Help menu in phpED. You may want to specify PHP, HTML, or other manuals on the local system for display. You could also include specifications, coding guidelines, or style guides for groups of developers to access.

Create a new folder in the Help subdirectory of the phpED directory. Give the directory the same name as the manual you are adding.

Place the file in the folder you just created.

When you launch phpED, it will search for a file named [DirName].chm. If this file exists, phpED will add [DirName] to the Help menu. From that point on, [DirName].chm will be displayed when users select that manual option from the Help menu.

If [DirName].chm does not exist, phpED will search for a file in that directory named manual.chm. If this file exists, phpED will add [DirName] to the Help menu. manual.chm will be displayed when users select that manual option from the Help menu. If neither of these .chm files is found in the appropriate place, no change will be made to the Help menu.

Not having any luck with this. Does this feature work or am I just doing something wrong.

Thanks,

In order to add a manual in chm format, just copy chm file (and chi if provided) to phped\help subdirectory and delete phped\toc.cfg
Next time you run phped, this file will be recreated and manual will be shown in both help menu and help tabbed window.

That did it. Thanks

Really nice program. Looking forward to auto-complete for classes and methods (next version I hope)
